Panoráma Hotel
Ágnes Kovács-Muhel and the team at Panoráma Hotel Noszvaj have been using our automated room-pricing service for more than a month—and they told us about their experience.
Setting the right prices is always a time-consuming task
“We took over the operation of the hotel in 2019. After opening, we worked with traditional pricing. We began using dynamic pricing with the help of an external service provider after the first shutdown caused by COVID. It quickly became clear what effect moving prices dynamically has—or can have—on revenue, and how important a genuine presence is in online booking
systems.
However, it is difficult to find the right compromise between maximising revenue and running a hotel sensibly. Using a channel manager made the pricing process simpler and faster. Setting the right prices, however, still proved to be a time- and labour-intensive task. Whether we consider an external expert or a suitably trained employee of our own, the cost may not fit into the budget of a smaller property.”
More and more hotels use dynamic pricing, making good pricing increasingly difficult
“When setting prices ourselves, I found that competitor analysis and the continuous monitoring and analysis of changes in occupancy and revenue took a great deal of time. Collecting rates periodically from different booking systems for several competing hotels, comparing them with our own rates and occupancy, calculating prices on that basis, and building a discount structure is a complex
task, and analysing several spreadsheets together creates many opportunities for error.
As more and more hotels similar to ours began using dynamic pricing, we also found that we should check prices more often than our available time allowed.”
Dynamic pricing helps maximise revenue
Dávid and Tamás think beyond the numbers, helping to shape pricing around a wide range of considerations
“Our Previo PMS account manager told us about the RoomRaiser opportunity. With their help, I had the chance to meet Dávid and Tamás and learn about the RoomRaiser system. I think we found common ground from the very first moment.
I really liked that they both came from the hotel industry, so they did not think only in terms of prices and numbers. They also considered the hotel’s characteristics and our operational priorities, and tailored the system to the hotel on that basis. Their recommendations for identifying competitors, for example, were a great help to me.”
Fast configuration and seamless integration with our current hotel management system
“Setting up the system was also simple and quick: after an online meeting, we had to answer a short questionnaire, and Dávid and his team requested a few reports that could be exported from the PMS. They then created the free connection between Previo and RoomRaiser and, as part of another free consultation, helped us identify our true competitors and configured the
parameters that determine prices. After that, we received our login details, and from then on we were able to fine-tune the pricing together within a few days.
We were able to use the system free of charge and without any obligation for one month, and the paid period only began after that.”
The system is simple to use, and I can adjust the prices that need changing in just a few clicks
“I have been using the system for a month. Based on my experience, it is simple to use, and the list available in table format is easy to process and clear. With one click, I can list every date for which a price change is recommended.
We stayed in constant contact during implementation. After sending a few hotel metrics and statistical figures, I received an almost ready-to-use system immediately. Questions that arose while using it were answered and resolved quickly.”
Changes in prices are easy to track in the system
Growing revenue, less work—for a low fee!
“The system’s usage fee is significantly more favourable than the offers we received previously. It offers excellent value for money because, for a few euros per room each month, I can reprice the hotel at any time, at the press of a button, even for the entire following year. This can save me several hours of work each day, while dynamic pricing itself can mean as much as 20–30% more revenue, which nowadays should not be
‘left on the table’.”
Who would we recommend RoomRaiser to?
“I recommend the RoomRaiser system to small and medium-sized hotels that do not have a dedicated revenue manager but sell through online booking systems (OTAs) and primarily view these platforms as channels. I would also confidently recommend it to those who are just getting started with revenue management and dynamic pricing.”
